Covid-19 Update

May 15, 2020

I hope you and your family are healthy and finding space to rest and relax during this challenging and unpredictable time.

As many of you know, I am expecting a baby girl in early August. In order to minimize the risk of contracting the virus during my pregnancy, I feel it is important to keep my clinic closed and stay home to limit my exposure. This was an extremely difficult and heartbreaking decision for me.

I plan to be back in the office, after my maternity leave, on October 2nd I will stay current on SARS CoV-2 and the necessary PPE, disinfecting procedures and social distancing procedures in order to provide a treatment environment with the least amount of risk possible when I reopen.

In the meantime, I am still offering online Chinese herbal consults for stress and sleep disorders, digestive disorders, women's health issues, and fatigue (among other conditions). If you are interested in a gua sha and/or moxibustion tutorial online, I am offering those as well.  Feel free to contact me (518.669.1233; isbisteracu@gmail.comwith any questions about telehealth visits, or with any other concerns.

Note: If you would like to be placed on my waitlist for when I return, feel free to email isbisteracu@gmail.com and I will add you to my newsletter list and contact you about scheduling once it gets closer to October.

Acupuncturist Referrals

I know acupuncturists (and all health care practitioners) are searching for adequate PPE and are adjusting office policies and procedures to minimize the risk of spreading SARS-CoV-2. I have been in close contact with Kate Ruma, Lisa Desrosiers and Sonya Chu about these procedures. It looks promising that they may open up in June or July, as long as they have acquired the necessary protective equipment. Kate and I share our rooms and Lisa is just across the hall from us. I highly recommend them both. Here is their contact information, should you want to book an appointment with them before I re-open. If I normally bill insurance for you, I would ask if Kate and Lisa do as well. I do not think Sonya accepts any insurance.

Sonya Chu is also fantastic. She is in North Cambridge and I believe she is opening mid-July
