Chinese Herbal Medicine

Chinese herbs are an integral part of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Each formula is tailored to the specific needs of the patient following evaluation and pattern diagnosis. A formula is made up of two or more herbs, which can be roots, leaves, bark, flowers, fruits, seeds, etc. Traditionally the herbs are simmered in water and the remaining tea is ingested. Since this process is time-intensive, I usually offer granular custom herbal formulas which can be dissolved in warm water and consumed easily. This type of medicine complements acupuncture well; whereas acupuncture is a treatment which is often sought once or twice a week, herbs are taken twice daily in order to help resolve the condition faster.
