Acupuncture

The highest form of Chinese medicine is prevention.

Acupuncture involves the insertion and stimulation of extremely thin needles into specific points on the body. Combined with Chinese herbal medicine, acupuncture is a widely used form of medical treatment throughout China and has been practiced for over 2,000 years. There are entire hospitals in China devoted to this practice. Today it is one of the fastest growing types of complementary medicine in the United States.

There are over 300 acupuncture points which are found on interconnected pathways, or channels on the body from the head to the toes (and over 100 just in the outer ear!). Acupuncture is used to bring about a balance in energy, or Qi, throughout the body and it helps all parts of the body interact more effectively. Various factors contribute to a lack of circulation in the body. Acupuncture helps unblock stagnation, thus bringing about change, whether it is pain relief, stress reduction, or cold or flu prevention.
