Neck Pain
I've always been wary of traditional medicine. And I hate needles, so I'm not what you'd call a perfect candidate for acupuncture.
Then I messed up some discs in my neck, and all my friends recommended acupuncture.
And the pain? I'm old friends with pain, but this was the kind of pain that made me go, "Okay, I can't understand how poking me with needles is going to help, but I can't spend all day, every day, taking muscle relaxants, so I might as well try it." I called a guy who came up with lots of great reviews on Yelp. But he was busy and referred me with complete confidence to a friend from acupuncture school. And that was Caitlin. Caitlin has done great by me. I'm fussy. I hate needles (it bears repeating). I occasionally turn up my nose at other suggested treatments. And yet, saint that she is, she keeps setting me up like a pin cushion once a month. And though I whine, her work has meant that for the past nine months, I've been completely off the muscle relaxants for what might otherwise be a debilitating injury.
So yeah, if you're a hurtin' bird, go get poked with needles. I can't explain it, but it works for me.

Trying to Conceive, Headaches, Digestive Issues, Low Energy
I started working with Caitlin when my husband and I decided we wanted to start trying to have a baby. A close friend had sworn acupuncture had helped her get pregnant. I had never tried acupuncture, and was initially hesitant. After meeting Caitlin, I was immediately hooked. She is incredibly calm and approachable. Not only did Caitlin help me with my frequent headaches and terrible digestion - she helped ward off all of my students’ germs. During each session with Caitlin, I would go into the deepest, most relaxing sleep, and feel incredibly renewed. In addition to increasing my energy level, I’m so happy to report that after only two and a half months of working with Caitlin, I became pregnant!

Irregular Cycles
I visited the acupuncturist (Caitlin Isbister) approximately 8 times and my health insurance actually covered all but my co-pay so that made it very affordable. I decided to try acupuncture as a form of making my menstrual cycles more regular. It worked! After 8 visits I started on a cycle and thereafter had 30-day cycles which was fantastic (prior to this, I had gaps of 4-5 months without a cycle).
Caitlin was fantastic - very understanding, patient and a good listener. She was also just very friendly and I felt very comfortable with her.

*Seasonal Allergies, PMS Symptoms, Dental Pain
I've worked with her throughout the years for various health issues (seasonal allergies, pms issues) with positive results but I was truly stunned after I saw her immediately following major dental work! If you have any dental appointments, you must see Caitlin!
My dentist warned me that I would be in a great deal of pain for the next few days...A few hours later, I felt the Novocaine begin to wear off and my face started to throb. In a stroke of luck, I was able to see Caitlin shortly thereafter...Within a matter of minutes, the insertion sites Caitlin selected began to work. At first, the throbbing subsided and then within 4 minutes, I felt like I hadn't had any dental work done at all! It was incredible. Just to test it, I chomped my teeth together and there wasn't any pain or even soreness. If I hadn't experienced it myself, I wouldn't have believed it.
Not only did my discomfort go away during the session but afterwards, I had absolutely no swelling or pain the subsequent days. I was eating comfortably that evening! The only area that was tender was the spot the dentist used for the Novocain injection...What I really like about Caitlin is that she combines her professional knowledge, keen analytical skills and passion for improving the lives of her clients.
I've always been a big proponent of acupuncture but the post-dental sessions with Caitlin have really amazed me...
